Well, after almost two years, we finally said good-bye to our pet hamster - Suger. He died of old age -especially for a hamster. I never remember being able to keep a hamster alive for that long in my youth. The kids were sad - but they also realized that it was better for the hamster - because he was starting to act funny, like walking abnormally (like he had a stroke or something). So they felt bad that his quality of life was diminished (my words, not theirs).
We got to bury him in Grandma's backyard - that way we can always come visit. Poor little guy - he was very loved! It was a fun adventure - and maybe someday we'll do it again!

So sad. :( I'm glad you don't have to figure out hamster swapping when you move, though. :)
