Staples

Eric had his first trip to the insta care!  We were at the rec center playing for FHE.  Abby and Eric were goofing off. Abby decided to throw him in the pool... well, he didn't quite make it. He hit the back of his head on the side of the pool and was bleeding like crazy.  The lifeguards took good care of him - but told us we should go get some stitches.
Eric was really pretty calm about it - it was Abby who was having a traumatic experience.  She was going crazy!  She was sure she had ruined Eric for life.  She was crying and saying sorry... it was Abby we had to calm down, not Eric. Eric just sat there and let the lifeguards put some bandages on.
We took everyone home, got some dry clothes on and I got to take Eric to Insta Care.  Chris does not do well with blood or needles.  So - I got the fun job of going with Eric.  He had a million questions - and I'm not even exaggerating!  :) Ok - maybe I am just a bit - but he did ask questions the entire time we were there.
While we waited for the numbing stuff to work, they let him play their gaming system.  Amazing what they have now to entertain kids!  And why do they call it insta care?  I think that's false advertising or something - it should just be called "same day care", there is nothing instant about it!
Good news is - he didn't have to get stitches, just three staples.  You can kind of see them in this picture.  They really do look just like a staple gun staples.  Amazing what they can do these days!
Eric was very brave.  He didn't complain about them at all... and he never did mention them through the week either.  This kid is tough as nails!!!!
