We had a chilly weekend at Bear Lake Friday- Sunday. We got to stay at the Willey Wadi - a cabin my sister's in-laws have access to. It was sure a fun weekend. Andrew loves being outside, and enjoyed himself - since he was held and loved the whole time. Chris even put his feet in the water - no reaction :)There wasn't much beach this year - just tiny little strips of sand with the lake in front and marsh land behind. The kids loved the marsh, because the water got warm. They hunted for fish and built sandcastles and pretended to be sea turtles. We found some huge fish in the marsh too - that was interesting!
The Willey Wadi has a huge lake trampoline that we brought down to the beach with the truck. The kids loved jumping on it and just playing on it. The water was as cold as ever - but it was sure fun!!!
Here are the little sea turtles floating in the marsh...

My dad always brings his truck and 4-wheeler to Bear Lake when we come- it helps to bring down all the stuff you end up having to take to the lake! The 4-wheeler comes in handy when having to go back to the cabin for a quick break or to grab things we forget. It was fun - the kids beg to get rides on both the truck and the quad.

You can't go to Bear Lake and not get a raspberry shake! Abby and Eric both loved them - even though they were mostly just runny ice cream by the time we got back from the shake shop - I guess the machine wasn't working well, so we mostly got soft serve instead of the hard ice cream - oh well... it was still delicious!
My parents enjoying their ice cream and quad! The kids had fun with their DS games - they took turns playing them - they were totally enthralled!
One of the highlights of the Willey Wadi is the tower - the kids LOVE to play up here. It makes my knees go weak! But the kids don't seem to mind it.
We went to church on Sunday morning- we had to sit on primary chairs in the hallway because there was no more room in sacrament meeting. The chapel was full, and the overflow primary room was full... only hall space left. Oh well, we at least got to partake of sacrament while there!
After church we drove to Weston Idaho - where my mom grew up. We went to the farm house where she lived. I have some fun memories there - but my older siblings have more memories for sure. By the time I remember this farmhouse, my grandma McKay wasn't living there anymore, it was vacant. The only memories i have of it are the mice, goat, roaming down by the creek, and seeing all of grandma's food storage in the basement. The people who own it now have really made it look beautiful.
It was such a fun weekend. We've had such a whirlwind week- but it sure has been fun!! We are all tired and worn out - but we'll be gearing up for one more family reunion in Vernal this weekend, Eric's birthday and the birth of another nephew! :) Then I think I'm going to crash for a week!! I sure wish I could hibernate for a few days - if only Andrew would let me!
