Tuesday afternoon we headed to Market Street for dinner with Chris' work - Deloitte. They were taking us on a celebration dinner - AWESOME! The food was delicious and the company great. When we left at 3pm to go to drop off kids at the babysitter, we noticed the house was getting warm - like 80 degrees...but we thought it was the cool keeper... When we got home and it was 95... we knew it wasn't the cool keeper. We tried to fix it - but we didn't know what was wrong. We couldn't get the air to come on. We opened all the windows, and put the kids in the basement and tried to sleep. Oh - it was so hot! I woke up on the fourth with the biggest headache!
I found Eric reading a book to Andrew on the morning of the fourth. It was such a cute brother moment - I had to take time to record it. I love when these moments happen - without forcing them ;) It's like they choose to like each other sometimes - I think that's a great reward as a mom!
We went to the West Bountiful Parade - it is so calm and relaxed and easy to find a seat in the shade.. we love it!! And the candy is great too - there is so much candy tossed, the kids LOVE it!

After the parade, we headed up to Chris' parents house. We did not want to sit in our HOT HOUSE! It was still over 90 in the house... even with every fan on! So - we went to mom's to cool off. The kids played in the water. It was nice and cool!

Chris "sacrificed" and rocked Andrew (and himself) to sleep that afternoon. They both had a nice cool nap.
We had a great BBQ dinner that night, then we headed to Davis High for the most awesome fireworks there are! I brought some snaps for the babies to play with. They sure enjoyed throwing them and stepping on them. It was fun to watch their fascination.
I loved how into stomping on them Andrew got... he was totally entertained.
Grandpa Bradley is so good with the grand kids - these boys just love him. He's a good grandpa - and was a great example to his sons as they grew up on how to be a great father!
Andrew does not like how loud the fire crackers were - he was constantly plugging his ears - but at least he didn't cry - just plugged his ears.

The day after the 4th Chris took Eric on a trip to the Uintas - to Red Castle - with James and Thomas.
They met with some pretty crazy rain the first day - they decided to stop and just set up tents. The little boys took a 3 hour nap while it rained and rained... that gave them more energy to keep hiking when the clouds broke and the sun started shining again.
Eric and Thomas loved the rivers they crossed. Boys always love water! :)

This is a picture of Red Castle - it looks amazing. Chris said it looks even more awesome in person. I can't wait to join them next time!

Eric made a volcano out of rocks, then poured water in it from the stream. He was really into it.
Chris and Eric had a great time! Eric said it was hard, but fun too. They ended up hiking about 25 miles total. Even more than he hiked on TREK. Chris said he did great- when he was tired it was hard, but other than that, the boys were real troopers. They are going to be great scouts with GREAT dads!!!
