Monday came bright and early. Eric was up and ready to go in no time! He is so excited for 2nd Grade. He says he's most excited for reading this year. WOW... now that's awesome - considering he was struggling with it at the beginning of the year last year (goes to show what an amazing teacher can do for a child!! Thank you Ms. Webster!!)
Abby on the other hand, did not pop out of bed... in fact, she didn't want to move. She was running a fever of 103 and she said her head was pounding! Ugh! Sick on the first day. That's not a good way to start! She slept all day - and finally her fever broke Monday evening.
Tuesday she popped out of bed and was ready for her first day of school! I was a little hesitant sending her back so soon, but she was feeling great. Then the bus was 40 minutes late... LOL... talk about an anxiety attack for those poor little kids at the bus stop on that 2nd day. Right after all their teachers told them "don't be late to school, or you have to go to the front office and get a late slip." No one wants a late slip! One little first grader was in serious tears with worry. I didn't know who his mom was, so I told him to get on the bus and his teacher would help him at school. Pool little guy.
Abby is in 5th grade! The last grade in elementary here! She is super excited for the year...and has her folder so organized all ready for homework!! :) She says when she grows up she wants to work at an animal sanctuary - like Best Friends in Kanab. (she went on a field trip with her dog training class)
